Hello 2020!

New Year’s Day is always an exciting day! It is a day that brings new adventures. It is a day that allows us to look forward to change. It is a day that opens the door to new goals and dreams. So as we ring in the new year, let’s give thanks for all of our blessings!

For my family, we say goodbye to our first year as a family of 5, and we say hello to a new year ahead of growth and more adventures to come.

We are so excited to celebrate new beginnings… HELLO to a new decade – Hello 2020!

Take time today to thank God for the blessing of Day 1.

8 Things I Have Learned In 8 Years Of Marriage

Today marks my 8th wedding anniversary, I can’t believe I have been married for 8 years to my college sweetheart! I am so thankful for all of the fun moments and memories, as well as the hard times and difficulties. We have been through college, more college, moving to Washington, moving to Kansas, buying a home, having babies, career changes, losing loved ones… I could go on and on. The beauty of marriage is that you have a partner to do life with. Someone to lean on in hard times and someone to rejoice with in the good times. Marriage is a beautiful gift.

Since today is my 8th wedding anniversary I wanted to share… 8 little gems I have learned in my 8 years of marriage.

This Father’s Day, Give The Gift of… TIME!

Since having our second daughter we have learned more than ever that time is precious! We are busier than we have ever been, and we’re loving every second of it. That being said, for Father’s Day this year I am giving my husband the gift of time. My husband is a busy man who works very hard providing for our family, filling each of us with love, support and encouragement and always leaves his stress at the door. This year for Father’s Day I thought it would be fun to give my hubby something to represent how grateful we are for him and all that he does for us, by surprising him with a watch to remember where we are at in time… a family of 4 with 2 sweet and rambunctious little girls!

Happy Mother’s Day – Mother/Daughter Photo Shoot

Mother’s Day has become such a special holiday to me. I am so thankful and beyond blessed to have two of the sweetest little girls that I love so much and I am honored to be their mom. Being a mom is truly the best! That being said, I cannot do what I do as a mom without the unquestioned love and support of my amazing husband. I am so blessed and grateful to have such a devoted, thoughtful and relentlessly loving husband. Thank you, Travis!

My husband usually asks me in advance what I would like for Mother’s Day, but this year that didn’t happen. (Hence why I posted my Gift Guide for the Men this year – lol!) But, much to my surprise… he did not disappoint, instead he exceeded my expectations! For my Mother’s Day gift, my sweet husband told me to get dressed up, and while I did… he got the girl’s dressed up in darling, matching dresses; he obviously knows the way to my heart – matching dresses! He surprised me and took us to a nearby park for a mini mother/daughter photo shoot. I am so thankful that he knows what makes my heart explode with happiness. I love that I have adorable photos to always remember and look back upon. These are the crucial moments that I will always want to look back on! Thank you Travis for capturing the most precious moments with my girls! Truthfully, the BEST Mother’s Day gift I could have asked for!
