Raising Girls

If I could have asked my younger self where I would be at age 31… I promise you I never would have imagined a mom to two beautiful girls! I always thought that I would make a great boy-mom, and truly anticipated having a home full of dirt-covered little dudes and a family room covered in sports balls and legos!  BOY was I wrong! God has a great sense of humor.  Instead I have a home full of princess dresses, an over-sized bright-pink Barbie Dream house, drawers of bows and headbands, and baby dolls around every corner… and the crazy part is, I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

My SIMPLE Nighttime Cleansing Routine

Since becoming a mom I have noticed how easy it is to get caught up in the craziness of the day and neglect my face and skincare regiment.  I use to take it so serious, and just recently noticed how often I just fall into bed exhausted with all of my makeup from the day still on my face, ugh! I decided this had to change.

I have extremely dry and sensitive skin, so I searched for a product that is right for my skin type, easy to use and at the right price. I found it.  Simple Skincare products have become a big part of my nightly routine, and I love them!  Continue Reading

MOMMIN’ Aint Easy : Real-life Motherhood

Urban Dictionary describes it perfectly:

Mom: The woman who loves you unconditionally from birth, the one who puts her kids before herself and the one who you can always count on above everyone else.  Just telling her your problems makes you feel better because moms always know how to make it all go away. Even if you fight, know that she’s just looking out for your best interests.

When I became a mom everyone warned me: “life will never be the same again.” It always reminded me of the song – “It’s the end of the world as we know it.”  I heard what they were saying but I didn’t truly know what they were saying until I became a mom 1,424 days ago.  And it’s true, life has not been the same. It’s been better… better than I could have ever imagined it!  Being a mom is truly one of the most rewarding experiences of my life thus far! Continue Reading

Happy Mother’s Day – Mother/Daughter Photo Shoot

Mother’s Day has become such a special holiday to me.  I am so thankful and beyond blessed to have two of the sweetest little girls that I love so much and I am honored to be their mom.  Being a mom is truly the best!  That being said, I cannot do what I do as a mom without the unquestioned love and support of my amazing husband.  I am so blessed and grateful to have such a devoted, thoughtful and relentlessly loving husband.  Thank you, Travis!

My husband usually asks me in advance what I would like for Mother’s Day, but this year that didn’t happen.  (Hence why I posted my Gift Guide for the Men this year – lol!) But, much to my surprise… he did not disappoint, instead he exceeded my expectations!  For my Mother’s Day gift, my sweet husband told me to get dressed up, and while I did… he got the girl’s dressed up in darling, matching dresses;  he obviously knows the way to my heart – matching dresses!  He surprised me and took us to a nearby park for a mini mother/daughter photo shoot.  I am so thankful that he knows what makes my heart explode with happiness.  I love that I have adorable photos to always remember and look back upon.  These are the crucial moments that I will always want to look back on!  Thank you Travis for capturing the most precious moments with my girls!  Truthfully, the BEST Mother’s Day gift I could have asked for!

31 and Relevant

Today is my birthday and I am turning thirty… plus 1 year, YAY! I am not one to obsess on turning another year older. To me, age is just a number.  What matters to me is looking back at what I have done with that number and being thankful and proud of my time spent here on earth.  I have been married for almost 8 years, I have 2 little girls under the age of 4 and a very happy home… this is what makes me cherish each passing year.  I want to look back and think that my time has been well spent (relevant). What a shame it would be to look back one day and realize that I didn’t make an impact, or that I succeeded in many things, but that none of them mattered, or to realize that I hoarded God’s blessings and didn’t share them with others.
