I have been on a reading kick and I LOVE IT!
I often get asked, “How do you find time to read in this stage of life with three littles at home?” The truth is… I usually give up my precious sleep. I know this might sound crazy to some of you, but for me it is almost therapeutic. I love nothing more than wrapping my kiddos in their beds and kissing them goodnight and then jumping into my bed to dive into a good read! There is something soothingly sweet about it! After a long day of giving everything I have to my 3 girls, it is almost like I am finally giving myself what I need and investing in myself. The concept sounds crazy to my husband (and for all that can relate, maybe yours too!?)… “You’re sacrificing your sleep for a book?” Yes. Yes I am. And I love it. No matter how many times I try, it just doesn’t add up to him. Staying up late and trading in zzz’s for page flips is all about getting some quiet & much needed ME time. In this season of life, I have to take it where I can get it, and right now, its 9pm until some time later than I’m willing to admit. = )
That being said, here are a few great books that I have read over the last few months!
Here they are, my 6 Recent Reads

As you can probably tell by the titles, I prefer a good girlie read, similar to watching a Hallmark Rom-Com. But, one thing I will warn you, a few of these books get a little steamy! So if that is not your thing, skip through the descriptive parts, because the storylines and characters are still so good and worth it! I also threw in a memoir this go around, just to change things up. Plus, one of these books is now on my favorites list!
Cancel The Wedding was my favorite of the bunch, and definitely makes my all-time favorites list with One True Loves and A Hundred Summers from my October 2018 – Recent Reads! I couldn’t put it down! I love the small town it takes place in, the characters’ personal stories and the twists and turns that it takes you on. You feel like you are one with the main characters, their romantic love stories and their life journey. Don’t hesitate – read this book!
Summer Rental is not what you think it will be. You are following along in a journey with 3 lifelong friends and in comes another woman with a past and some crazy secrets! Gotta love a good twist! Perfect summer read with depth. Enjoy 🙂
What Remains. I was inspired to read this memoir because it touches on JFK Jr. and a life of royalty… truthfully, I am intrigued by both of these topics. This is a well written memoir, but it doesn’t necessarily have a happy ending, as you already know. But, you get to be apart of the whole journey and I enjoyed the insight into the family and all the love surrounding them.
The Best Man, One Day In December and The Proposal are great girlie reads. They all have interesting settings, fun characters and well-written story-lines that keep you tied-up in the plot. Fun reads, but also a little on the steamy side.
+Reader Warning – haha!
If you want a good travel read, laying by the pool or just a late-night snuggle – these 6 books would all be great! So find the time that works best for you, and get lost in a story!
