Over the last few months I’ve been blessed with more time to read due to cuddling a newborn! I decided to soak up some of our snuggles with tunes on in the background (John Mayer + James Morrison on Pandora) and cozying up with a good book. And in doing so, I have been blessed greatly by quiet time and books that have taken me along for journeys, life stories, laughter, tears and adventures.

A Hundred Summers – Beatriz Williams
Each of the books I read during this season, have made an impact on me. BUT… I always get asked, “What was your favorite?” To be honest, I really liked them all for different reasons. Super cliche, I know!
I couldn’t put One True Loves down, I read it in 4 sittings. It is a romantic book that takes you through a story that makes you think to yourself, “What would I do in this situation!” I love a book that makes me put myself in the characters shoes.
I also enjoyed the writing style of A Hundred Summers, it is a beautiful story that touches on true love, and it will even make you blush!
Taking Aim is the story of Eva Shockey and I loved that she is a tom-boy at heart, and makes being both glamorous and outdoorsy, a lifestyle to strive for. You go girl!
Barefoot is a book that displays the importance of family and friendship through hard times, it is a great summer read with unique characters, twists and turns… all while enjoying the details of a picturesque summer beach town.
Sister’s First is the true story of Jenna Bush Hagar and Barbara Bush. I enjoyed all of their insights and stories of their time as the First Daughters! It is a loving book and it is written from both of their points of view.
When Life Gives You Lululemons is funny, quirky and just overall well done. It is a great story, it touches on all the things you look for in a good book and has a fun suburban mom-life storyline. It is from the beloved Devil Wears Prada book series, and I really enjoyed it!
Next time you are sitting around, I encourage you to make a hot cup of coffee, grab a good book and get lost. It is so refreshing!
