Every year we take the girls all dressed up in their matching Christmas dresses to Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shop for their annual Christmas photo with Santa. Truth moment… every visit I hope for at least one crying girl; I adore a good cry face! This year proved to be almost identical to last year with an extremely sad face from my sweet 1.5 year old who still doesn’t love the idea of sitting on some strange man’s lap! And for the second year in a row, my four year old was beyond excited to greet Santa with a smile and proceed to tell him what she would like for Christmas. If you are wondering what she asked for, I learned that she wants purple glass slippers and a pink wand; good to know!
If you are looking for the perfect rustic Santa experience, I highly recommend visiting your nearby Bass Pro Shop. They have a beautiful setup with reindeer and a very authentic Santa. This was our 4th year in a row visiting Bass Pro Shop for the Santa experience and I look forward to seeing the same Santa every time. My now 4 year old recognizes him from her earlier visits and thinks he truly is THE Santa!
We also love that they have holiday activities for the kids to do while waiting for their turn to meet Santa. Rather than trying to manage our littles in a line, they can hang out in the kids zone and write a letter to Santa and participate in other cute activities.
My family also loves to walk around the store and admire the antler Christmas trees, all of the animals and the big aquarium. Of course their favorite stop is the carousel where we always ride on a camo moose! It is a perfect way to spend the evening. We love to turn our Santa visit into a family date night and it never disappoints. Did I mention the whole experience is free??!! Win-Win!
