Peanut Butter + Banana Dippers

If you have been following along with me on a regular basis you have probably realized by now that occasionally I’ll provide my viewers with a recipe. And if you’ve been paying close attention, I only share recipes that meet the following criteria: Must be easy to make, must require minimal ingredients, must be mom approved, and must be loved by kids!  As a bonus, I love sharing recipes that allow the little ones to help out in the kitchen.  With that being said, this is another recipe you will love!

I recently realized that my daughter is ALWAYS hungry for a snack when she gets home from school.  I wanted to provide her with something yummy and on the healthy side, so that is how this recipe came to life.  My Peanut Butter Banana Dippers are super tasty and they allow you to get creative & have some fun with your kiddos.  For this recipe I like to bring out a roll of craft paper and lay it out across our kitchen island, and let me little chef get a little messy!  It is a fun way to turn snack-time into craft-time as well!

DIRECTIONS:

Start by peeling your bananas and cutting them in half.

To make the next few steps easier we put our bananas on lollypop sticks.  If you do not have any of those on hand, food skewers or popsicle sticks work well too. If you don’t mind getting a little messy, don’t worry about adding a stick. 🙂

Let the fun begin, time to slather your bananas in peanut butter.  I like good ol’ fashion creamy peanut butter, but feel free to try other kinds like… almond butter or flavored peanut butters such as Dark Chocolate Dreams.  (This step gets a little messy, but no worries, the toppings cover up your peanut butter covered banana.)

It’s time to dip!  Make sure to cover all sides of your peanut butter covered banana in your toppings, the more the merrier.

Once you are done, set each Peanut Butter Banana Dipper to the side and repeat the steps again with whatever peanut butter and topping mixtures you like.

My daughters favorite mixtures are:

Your Peanut Butter Banana Dippers are ready to eat once they are made, but if you are like me… I stick my finished treat in the refridgerator for 15 minutes to chill before I enjoy it!

The sky is the limit on these dippers so have fun and be creative with your mixtures.  In the past we have used: chopped nuts, other types of cereal, bacon bits, craisins, freshly chopped fruit and mini marshmallows.  Also, if you are not a peanut butter fan, feel free to use cream cheese or marshmallow fluff! If you can dream it, you can use it.
