I have compiled a list of 10 ideas to assist you with your Mother’s Day shopping/planning. If you feel like you have NO IDEA where to even start… START HERE. Mom’s, if that lucky man in your life is struggling to find something special for you this Mother’s Day (or let’s face it, if he has dropped the ball in the past)… send him this post and sit back and relax … I got ya girl!
Here is a list to get you thinking for Mother’s Day… “What does my lady want???”
Staycation – A nice getaway always refreshes a busy mommy! Look into the top resorts or B&B’s within a 2 hour drive, that way the location is easy to get to, yet far enough away to feel like you are on vacation! Also, if you want to be the ultimate HERO, go ahead and pre-arrange childcare; ask a friend, family member or neighbor for assistance… You’ll blow her mind!
Gift Card to a specific loved store, or to an online/Etsy shop! Retail Therapy always brings a smile to a mom’s face! If you are not sure what she loves, look at the tags on the clothing she owns and find out her favorite brands! …Or if all else fails, check your credit card statement to find the shops she frequents. 🙂
Spa Treatment – Massage/Facial/Manicure/Pedicure … or better yet, all of the above! Resorts and Hotels offer some amazing spa days (beyond dreamy!!), or you can buy a SpaFinder gift card and allow her to book her own choice at her convience.
Maid Service – Every mom would love a little help tidying up her palace! Literally, google “house cleaner or maid services” in your city and a plethora of options will pop up. I have also noticed a lot of promotions on Groupon.
Frost her with some Bling-Bling – Watch, Ring, Earrings, Necklace, Bracelet – The sky is the limit! If you are not sure what to purchase, go to a nice department store where you have many brands and styles to choose from! Beauty products – Lotions, perfumes, candles & makeup! Moms always seem to run out of the yummy smelling stuff! My favorite spots to purchase all of these items: Sephora / Ulta.
A new bag or new shoes – A girl can never have too many bags or shoes! Look at the brands she already has or ask her closest girlfriend, they will know what she likes! I like to buy shoes at DSW and bags at any department stores.
CHEERS to a Good Drink! You can buy her favorite bottle of wine or get her a Wine of the Month Club subscription, and if she is a COFFEE lover like me, buy her a gift card to her favorite coffee shop! Moms can never have enough caffeine or vino!
Gift Basket – filled with a little bit of everything! If you are looking for a gift basket type gift, throw in a couple gift cards (shopping, restaurant, movies, coffee shop, spa), a bouquet of her favorite flowers, her favorite wine and a scrumptious candle. You will have one happy mom with a gift like this!
Date Night! Moms always want more time with just YOU! Plan a date night and rekindle the spark, hehe! One of my favorite and fun date-night ideas… go to a different restaurant for each course, I recommend doing this in an area that has many options within walking distance, and don’t forget to make reservations at each place. Have a fun appetizer at one place, then head to another for the main course and end the night with a decadent dessert. Romantic, different, and very memorable!
