:: Clothing on a Mission ::
Today’s Mommy Break Feature was inspired by a cute pop-up-shop I found while visiting the concrete jungle where dreams are made of (…Que Alicia Keys and Jay-Z), on a girl’s trip to NYC last Christmas. I literally stumbled upon this sweet children’s clothing shop while doing some Christmas shopping in Bryant Park. Side note; Bryant Park at Christmas time has got to be one of the cutest outdoor boutique shopping experiences I have ever visited. It’s holiday charm meets hustle and bustle of the Big Apple, and it’s filled with the most adorable small businesses. If you are ever in New York in December, visit Bryant Park, it is straight out of a movie! … Sorry, back to Lucy & Leo. 🙂
I walked into the Lucy & Leo booth to duck out of the chilly New York weather, and was instantly mesmerized by all of the cuteness in one place. This organic children’s company offers the most precious pieces, and it was love at first sight for me. I met Rachel, the owner and creator of Lucy & Leo, while I was perusing her booth. I loved her kind heart and found her desire to offer comfortable, quality, & eco-friendly fashion, so inspiring.
Lucy & Leo is an organic childrenswear line made in New York City with the goal in mind to change the world for the better. All clothing is made from organic cotton which helps to keep strong dyes and chemicals away from your baby’s skin.
Rachel has made a beautiful company using soft color palates and classic design, and I learned that Lucy & Leo is one of the first organic and USA-made clothing brands in the children’s industry. But, I must say, my favorite part about Lucy & Leo is that for every garment purchased, they plant a tree with Trees for the Future. I love how Lucy & Leo is making a difference one piece of clothing at a time. #littleclothesbigchange

Paisley is wearing the Lucy & Leo Spring Street Skirt in Purple (4T) & the Carlisle Cardigan in Grey (4T)
Payton is wearing the Lucy & Leo Central Park Dress in Navy (12-18 month) & holding the O is for Owl Teether

I love all of the little details and bright pops of color that Lucy & Leo splashes throughout their clothing. What a perfect touch this green zipper on Payton’s dress is, and the bright green collar and yellow buttons on Paisley’s skirt and top. I also love the little touches of patten mixing found on Paisley’s shirt and Payton’s pockets; I love mixing stripes and polka dots. These subtle but well thought out details make this clothing line extra special.
