We did it!… My husband and I went on 4-day, kid-free, Telluride-Colorado getaway. No one got sick, no one got hurt … it was a success! Of course, I captured way too many photos of our beautiful and snowy time in Telluride, so I chose a few of my favorites to share with you. Grab a hot latte, sit back and enjoy!
Two years ago, we visited Telluride, CO for the first time to be a part of my best friend’s wedding. We instantly fell in love with Telluride, and have been dying to get back ever since. When my best friend informed me that she was planning a two year anniversary trip back to Telluride, we knew it was the perfect opportunity to have a vacation without our little ones, and enjoy spending time with some wonderful friends. It had been 9 months since our daughter Payton joined our family, and this was our first husband/wife (no kids) trip since. When opportunities arise… JUMP! : )
After an 8-hour road trip (from Arizona to Colorado) through sunshine, rain and snow, we were beyond excited to arrive!
Welcome to Telluride!
We stayed at the incredible Peaks Resort & Spa in Mountain Village. This is the second time that we have stayed at this beautiful resort and if you plan on hitting the slopes, nothing beats their ski-in/ski-out access!
Two years ago, I stood by my best friend’s side in this exact spot as she said “I DO” to the man of her dreams. I couldn’t be more honored to have spent their anniversary weekend celebrating with them again! CHEERS to many more years of marriage and happiness. Love y’all!
… A little trip down memory lane… My best friend’s snowy wedding day – January 2014! If you are wondering, YES, I am the freezing blonde girl in the short dress – the things you do for friends!!!
Once you get to Telluride you are able to walk, ski/snowboard or use the gondola to go anywhere you need. It makes everything very simple and extra enjoyable! Here are a few of my favorite gondola moments.
Here are a few of our favorite local spots to eat and drink in Telluride. Just looking back at these photos makes me SUPER hungry!
Smugglers Brewpub – Perfect for a night out! …Good food, good wine, good times!… 🙂
The Coffee Cowboy – Every time I travel, I make a point to visit local coffee shops to show my love! This unique coffee stop is not only adorable, but their espresso is on point. I fell in love with their Annie Oakley Latte … remember to #shoplocal!
Palmyra at The Peaks – Since this restaurant is located in The Peaks Resort, it is the perfect place to meet up for drinks after a long day of skiing and recap your time on the mountain.
Tomboy Tavern – Located at the base of the mountain in Mountain Village, it is the perfect place to ski down to for a delicious meal! It is warm, cozy and scrumptious!
… And of course we found the only Starbucks in Telluride 🙂 Can’t beat this view!
Time to SKI!
I don’t get to ski often, but when I do I always love to pop in some praise music (Phil Wickham), enjoy the incredible beauty of the mountains around me, and give all glory to God. For me, skiing is both thrilling and relaxing, and the experience as a whole has a way of bringing everything into perspective for me … God is amazing!
An added bonus to this trip was meeting up with great friends we haven’t seen in a while. We definitely laughed A LOT – good times!
I am so thankful for the time I was able to share with my handsome hubby. It was a blessing to spend 4 days (uninterrupted by kids) with him in such a picturesque ski town. We had so much fun together and loved every minute of our getaway! Here are a few photos from our adventures running around town!
If you are planning a trip to Telluride, please let me know, I would be happy to share more insight with you! My husband and I love to travel to snowy escapes, what places would you recommend for our next cold getaway? Thank you for your advice!
