Do you have a picky eater?… I do! My three year old is very particular about what she eats. She loves the typical kiddie foods, but has a hard time branching out and trying new things. A few months ago I hit my wall. Meal times had turned into such a chore, and all I was doing was nagging her to take a bite. I knew there had to be an easier way and if she could find eating to be fun, she might not put up such a fight. It was right around that time that I saw a commercial for a cookie dough brand that featured a mother and daughter using cookie cutters to make cookies… and of course, they were loving it. At that moment I had an epiphany; my daughter loves to help me bake, so if I could bring cookie cutters into our normal food world, she just might learn to love eating! Goodbye picky eater! I jumped onto trusty Amazon and found this most amazing product by Wilton, 101 Cookie Cutters. It was like this product was created just for me. Thank You God!
This jumbo container has 101 cookie cutters in alphabet, numbers, holiday and theme shapes. You name it… it is in there! Little did I know how well it would go over with my daughter. Not only is she willing to try new foods and having fun doing so, (what kid doesn’t want to use bright colored cookie cutters on their food) but it has also provided us with opportunities to work on her shapes, colors, letters and numbers. This inexpensive container has literally become a favorite item in my home, and one of my go-to gifts for my mommy friends. Not to mention we can use the cookie cutters for coloring, drawing, playing with play-dough & my 7 month old uses them as teethers; everyone is happy.
I am not saying that my daughter miraculously became an amazing eater, but she is having more fun and ultimately eating more! I have come to learn that my daughter is more interested in trying new foods, when she is a part of the cooking/preperation process. If you are not ready for your little one to help you cook, this is the perfect way for them to feel like they are being helpful, and not making a mess in your kitchen.
I hope this product proves itself useful to you and your family, as it has done for mine. I know the toddler eating stage can be trying sometimes, but stick with it, they will come around. […] My daughter is back to school and that means I’m back to packing daily lunches! I’m always looking for a new item to send with her to school, but all items have to meet these rules: easy to make, delicious to eat and no nuts (school rule). This Pizza Dippers recipe is perfect! It’s a no-mess way for the kiddos to eat pizza and have fun dipping in the red marinara sauce. There is no better compliment than your little one coming home from school with an empty lunchbox because they LOVED what you packed for them, because let’s face it… preschoolers are picky eaters!
