Urban Dictionary describes it perfectly:
Mom: The woman who loves you unconditionally from birth, the one who puts her kids before herself and the one who you can always count on above everyone else. Just telling her your problems makes you feel better because moms always know how to make it all go away. Even if you fight, know that she’s just looking out for your best interests.
When I became a mom everyone warned me: “life will never be the same again.” It always reminded me of the song – “It’s the end of the world as we know it.” I heard what they were saying but I didn’t truly know what they were saying until I became a mom 1,424 days ago. And it’s true, life has not been the same. It’s been better… better than I could have ever imagined it! Being a mom is truly one of the most rewarding experiences of my life thus far!
Mother’s Day has become such a special holiday to me. I am so thankful and beyond blessed to have two of the sweetest little girls that I love so much and I am honored to be their mom. Being a mom is truly the best! That being said, I cannot do what I do as a mom without the unquestioned love and support of my amazing husband. I am so blessed and grateful to have such a devoted, thoughtful and relentlessly loving husband. Thank you, Travis!
My husband usually asks me in advance what I would like for Mother’s Day, but this year that didn’t happen. (Hence why I posted my Gift Guide for the Men this year – lol!) But, much to my surprise… he did not disappoint, instead he exceeded my expectations! For my Mother’s Day gift, my sweet husband told me to get dressed up, and while I did… he got the girl’s dressed up in darling, matching dresses; he obviously knows the way to my heart – matching dresses! He surprised me and took us to a nearby park for a mini mother/daughter photo shoot. I am so thankful that he knows what makes my heart explode with happiness. I love that I have adorable photos to always remember and look back upon. These are the crucial moments that I will always want to look back on! Thank you Travis for capturing the most precious moments with my girls! Truthfully, the BEST Mother’s Day gift I could have asked for!

Today is my birthday and I am turning thirty… plus 1 year, YAY! I am not one to obsess on turning another year older. To me, age is just a number. What matters to me is looking back at what I have done with that number and being thankful and proud of my time spent here on earth. I have been married for almost 8 years, I have 2 little girls under the age of 4 and a very happy home… this is what makes me cherish each passing year. I want to look back and think that my time has been well spent (relevant). What a shame it would be to look back one day and realize that I didn’t make an impact, or that I succeeded in many things, but that none of them mattered, or to realize that I hoarded God’s blessings and didn’t share them with others.
I know what you are thinking; “Jenna… you are turning 31”, and you are right. But it is never too early, or too late, to start working on positive progress in our lives. This article is all about the things we should be doing to improve life choices, use of time, and help prepare us for our future… yes please! Today, on this milestone day in my life, I wanted to focus in on these important things and make a change! Do you want to take that step with me?

As a work-from-home mom of two, I am usually running around in my mommy-uniform, and not spending much time on myself and what I look like. That is why I always make sure to dress up my mommy look with jewelry. The added bonus of a few fun jewelry pieces can go a long way! I always make sure to wear my wedding ring, a simple necklace and jazz up my outfit with fun stud earrings. I am in the stage of life where stud earrings are the way to go, because my dangly-earrings always seem to attract the attention of my grabby one year old. OUCH! Earrings have become my way of showing off my personality with every look.
I decided it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite brands and styles when it comes to stud earrings, and with Mother’s Day right around the corner, let’s go shopping!
My walk with the Lord is the most important thing to me, so why does it always take the backseat when life gets busy? I find myself making excuses, instead of letting God direct my day. I have noticed that when I’m not in the word, I am not the best wife, mom, friend, sister or daughter that God has created me to be. Knowing that about myself, I decided to make it a point to give God my quiet-time in the mornings, while the girls are sleeping. What I have noticed since doing so, is that life is so much better with God on the forefront of my mind. I am more patient with my girls, more eager to serve others and I seem to be more productive with my time. Through this journey I have found that the best way to dive into His word is with the assistance of a great devotional.
I was recently encouraged to take time for… ME! I know this might seem silly, but when you are a mom juggling all of life’s responsibilities, this is something that can easily slip through the cracks. As moms, we care so much for our families that
sometimes most times, SELF is the last thing we think about. Yes, we did choose to be moms, and of course we love it, but it is important to remember that we can’t be great moms unless we take care of us too!
One way we can take care of us is to take back Nap-Time!
