Today is my birthday and I am turning thirty… plus 1 year, YAY! I am not one to obsess on turning another year older. To me, age is just a number. What matters to me is looking back at what I have done with that number and being thankful and proud of my time spent here on earth. I have been married for almost 8 years, I have 2 little girls under the age of 4 and a very happy home… this is what makes me cherish each passing year. I want to look back and think that my time has been well spent (relevant). What a shame it would be to look back one day and realize that I didn’t make an impact, or that I succeeded in many things, but that none of them mattered, or to realize that I hoarded God’s blessings and didn’t share them with others.
I know what you are thinking; “Jenna… you are turning 31”, and you are right. But it is never too early, or too late, to start working on positive progress in our lives. This article is all about the things we should be doing to improve life choices, use of time, and help prepare us for our future… yes please! Today, on this milestone day in my life, I wanted to focus in on these important things and make a change! Do you want to take that step with me?
With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share with you the perfect way to find a darling outfit & here’s the kicker… from the convenience of your computer! I stumbled upon this amazing women’s online boutique and I am completely in love with their affordable selection and adorable options. Ladies, let me introduce you to PinkBlush. YAY!
As a work-from-home mom of two, I am usually running around in my mommy-uniform, and not spending much time on myself and what I look like. That is why I always make sure to dress up my mommy look with jewelry. The added bonus of a few fun jewelry pieces can go a long way! I always make sure to wear my wedding ring, a simple necklace and jazz up my outfit with fun stud earrings. I am in the stage of life where stud earrings are the way to go, because my dangly-earrings always seem to attract the attention of my grabby one year old. OUCH! Earrings have become my way of showing off my personality with every look.
I decided it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite brands and styles when it comes to stud earrings, and with Mother’s Day right around the corner, let’s go shopping!
My walk with the Lord is the most important thing to me, so why does it always take the backseat when life gets busy? I find myself making excuses, instead of letting God direct my day. I have noticed that when I’m not in the word, I am not the best wife, mom, friend, sister or daughter that God has created me to be. Knowing that about myself, I decided to make it a point to give God my quiet-time in the mornings, while the girls are sleeping. What I have noticed since doing so, is that life is so much better with God on the forefront of my mind. I am more patient with my girls, more eager to serve others and I seem to be more productive with my time. Through this journey I have found that the best way to dive into His word is with the assistance of a great devotional.
I was recently encouraged to take time for… ME! I know this might seem silly, but when you are a mom juggling all of life’s responsibilities, this is something that can easily slip through the cracks. As moms, we care so much for our families that
sometimes most times, SELF is the last thing we think about. Yes, we did choose to be moms, and of course we love it, but it is important to remember that we can’t be great moms unless we take care of us too!
One way we can take care of us is to take back Nap-Time!
Is this real life? Someone pinch me! I have been anxiously awaiting this day for so long now, my first blog post! Let me introduce myself… My name is Jenna and welcome to Espresso Ever After, my Mommy & Life+Style Blog. I am so excited to write about my faith, family, passions, LOVE for Coffee & so much more. But, let me start by giving you a little background into my life. I am 30 years old and PTL saved by grace (Thank you Jesus)! I have been married to my best friend, Travis, for 7.5 years and we call Arizona home. We met in college my freshman year and the rest is history. We have two beautiful daughters, Paisley Joy (3 years old) and Payton Reese (6 months old). We are so blessed to call them our girls & seriously what did we do before kids??!!
Welcome to Espresso Ever After Blog
I started this blog to share all of my adventures in mommyhood and to have a new creative outlet. Sometimes as moms, we put so much of us into our kids that we forget about our needs, passions & desires. I love the creative aspect of a blog and hope to bring all of you new ideas, new opportunities or at the very least another mom’s perspective on life. Being a mom or even a wife in today’s society isn’t easy, but hopefully we can walk through it together with support and encouragement.
Thank you for joining me in this exciting journey.
